Toyota Yaris Cross in the Philippines Launching, Actual Photos Taken

Toyota could be bringing the Toyota Yaris Cross to the Philippine market by 2021. These photos were taken in India.

It will be one of the last to arrive, in the summer of next year, in the fast growing segment of small SUVs from the city, but it has all the cards to become a top.

It is the Yaris Cross, a B-Suv, which inherits almost everything from the noble sister but is an entirely new product with greater ground clearance, intelligent front or all-wheel drive and the latest Toyota hybrid system.

Made in France, in Valenciennes, the Cross has more muscular and modern lines and keeps the same pace as the Yaris, but grows a little: more 240 mm in length (4,180 mm in total), plus 30 mm from the ground and 90 mm wide. It also improves accessibility to the load compartment, thanks to the rear split seats 40/20/40 and the possibility of adopting an automatic opening tailgate.

Yaris Cross benefits from Toyota's fourth generation Full Hybrid Electric technology derived directly from the larger 2.0 and 2.5 liter engines used in new models such as the Corolla, C-HR and Rav4. The system features a new 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol engine designed to reduce internal friction and mechanical losses and optimize combustion speed. The result is high torque at low engine speeds and excellent efficiency of low CO2 emissions.

The hybrid system has a total power of 116 hp.

A characteristic of the car is the automatic, intelligent system, which transfers torque to the rear axle during acceleration, departure or for a disengagement on difficult terrain (wet, mud, sand or snow), for the rest the car travels in the front.

It will also benefit from Toyota Safety Sense active safety systems and advanced driver assistance functions, helping to avoid a wide range of accident risks through information to the driver, pre-alarms and, when necessary, automatic braking and intervention on the steering.
