Taxes On Softdrinks - Yes Or No?

Proponents of a bill to impose taxes on sugared beverages and softdrinks believe this will help lessen the chances of Filipinos getting diseases such as diabetes much like how sin tax aims to lessen adverse effects of cigarette smoking.

Congressman Miro Quimbo says the money collected from the tax will go to health related expenses and projects by the government.

"We are pushing for the development of potable [water] systems in schools or develop milk that is more affordable. That is where the money will go."

But do you guys agree with the softdrink tax?

Shell expands its mobility services in the Philippines with EV charging stations and carbon offset program Shell, one of the leading energy companies in the Philippines, has recently launched two new initiatives that aim to promote smarter and cleaner mobility in the country: Shell Recharge and Shell NBS Carbon Offset Service. These offerings are part of Shell's efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and cater to the changing needs of its customers. Shell Recharge is Shell's first electric vehicle (EV) charging service in the Philippines, and the first of its kind on Philippine expressways.
