Facebook Admits Fault, Says Sorry to 104 Year Old User
A woman whose real age is 104 years old is forced to lie about her age on the social networking site.
This after the website did not allow her to input her real birthdate which is April 19, 1908.
Instead, the website forces the old lady to change her real birth year to 1928 making her age look like 99.
This angered the care take and relative of the old woman who manages and takes care of the elderly’s Facebook profile.
She said that she reads all the messages the old woman gets on her profile. But it is a bummer that Facebook could not let her post her real birth year hence she needed to lie about it.
Remember that Facebook has this stringent policy about real information and now they are forcing users to lie.
An engineer from the company had already admitted the fault and revealed there is something wrong with users who sign up whose birth years are before 1910.
They are now fixing the problem and regrets it happened.
This only goes to show how a billion dollar company like Facebook can still have hiccups.
Facebook says that they value their users whatever age they maybe and they would love to give access to everyone who wishes to connect with the people they care about.
