Apple's Next Big Product is ... a Ballpen called iPEN! Read More

An Adobe Pen for iPad

Back in 2007 when Steve Jobs introduced the first gen of iPhone, he trash talked existing smartphones back then for their quirky keyboard and yes, the stylus.

"Who wants a stylus?", said Jobs.

Indeed, who needs a stylus when you have a phone that works with a touch technology. Fast forward to present and its biggest competitor Samsung is making waves with their Galaxy Note line.

If anything, Apple has history of borrowing things from others and making it their own.

Years ago, Steve Jobs said 7 inch tablets are DOA, but Apple eventually released the iPad mini.

The late Jobs also once told that the 4 inch iPhone is the perfect size, yet this year they went for the six incher.

As with the iPad, nothing has really changed with the tablet since it launched in 2010 apart from the screen and processor upgrades.

A ball pen goes perfect with notebooks, so a stylus is just natural with tablets.

Samsung has them with their Note and Tab products and Microsoft received positive reviews with their pen-paired Surface Pros.

Should Apple decide to finally release iPad Pro, a much powerful Apple tablet, a smart stylus would be perfect.

This is not fiction though as the company has already filed patents for a prototype.

The idea is that with this Apple smartpen or iPen, it would translate your scribbles and writings on paper or any surface into digital form. In fact, you can even pair with an iPhone.

This year, the focus will be on the Apple Watch but a smartpen from Cupirtino is coming really soon.
